A New Phone Number Is a Mighty Thing

Apparently, when you get a new business phone number, that’s the signal for all the business services outfits to come out of the woodwork.  Yesterday, we had seven—count ‘em seven—calls in two hours from credit card processing companies.  I suppose the next batch will be the folks that want to add us to some obscure online yellow pages.

The other thing that’s driving us nuts is the temperature on our floor.  There are five offices but the thermostat is open to anyone who wants to change it and, unfortunately, there’s one guy who gets cold if it’s below about 72 degrees.   We can turn it down but, before long, it’s right back up again.  We may have to bring in a fan to survive the winter and I don’t even want to think about what he does in the summertime.  Annie thinks we should set the thermostat at 68 and then swipe the key.
