Einstein’s Tongue–Imagine Faster!

Why is it that I seem to be cursed with finding some of my greatest ideas, and having the courage to act upon these ideas, to produce such profound effects that leave me speechless and hopping for joy,… when I only get such a limited time to enjoy it?


My freshman year of high-school during the last week before we went off for summer, I went around the halls asking anyone and everyone if they considered themselves to be Freaks of Nature. I turned up the end of the school year, a week later, with more than 50 members of the student and faculty population having signed their names and their identities as being Freaks of Nature.

And now, with less than half the year left of my Junior year, I find the courage and the force of will to start up, and actually put into motion, a LARP club: live-action role-playing. I’m prepared to say this is my school’s first one too. My introductory statement:

“Hello all! This is, as the title suggests, an introductory e-mail to check up on a few things. First off, I’m thoroughly pleased that each and every one of you has put forth an excitement to role-play in live action motion. The whole gist of this concept is a character-based interaction between people. You are not you, you are your character. This is the most important and the funnest feature of a well performed role play, I believe, and yes, it will be thoroughly stressed at all times. Again, thank you all for this excitement you’ve shown by signing up, and I hope your interest only increases with each step! If you want a little more detail on the whole LARPing phenomenon, you can look up LARP on wikipedia. There is a good article there if you want to take a look.â€

My only regret in all of this is, why didn’t this occur to me earlier, when I had so much time? A true shame.
